Illness and School

At GD Public School, the health and well-being of all students are of utmost importance. Parents are strongly advised not to send children suffering from infectious diseases to school for classes or examinations.

Medical Examination and Recovery
At the first sign of symptoms such as rashes or fever, children should undergo a medical examination and attend school only upon a doctor’s advice. After recovering from an infectious illness, students must remain at home for the quarantine period recommended by their doctor.

Medical Fitness Certificate
To return to school, a medical fitness certificate signed by a doctor must be submitted to the school office.

Quarantine Period Guidelines
The following quarantine durations are recommended for common infectious ailments:

  • Chicken Pox: 3 weeks (until all scabs have fallen off)
  • Measles: 2 weeks
  • Mumps: 2 weeks
  • Conjunctivitis: 1 week
  • Jaundice: 4 weeks

If a student is found attending school with an infectious condition, they will be sent home immediately. It is mandatory for students to be medically fit to attend school to ensure the safety and health of the entire school community.
